What are goals? Why are we encouraged to make goals? I only realised the answer to these questions not too long ago. The reason? The goals i set are not really the goals i want. The goals i set are just things that i think are right. Until just recently, i realised my reason for playing neopets is to earn neopoints and reach the highest bank account level possible and until i reach that goal, i don't think i will stop playing neopets no matter how boring the games are because i possess the drive to go on, to reach my goal, because that is what i really want. The reason i play puzzle pirates is to earn as much poes as possible to buy better swords, better clothes and maybe even buy a ship. That is my drive. The reason i play games is because i want to win. I like the feeling of euphoria i get when i finally win.
I also realised that the goals i set, the reasons i give, for studying, do not motivate me to study at all. The reasons i give for studying is to get good grades. This is of course true but i just don't get the motivation i expect to get from setting goals. I do not feel the same i feel from playing games when i study. Is it because that is not what i really want? If that is the case, then i think i really have to set new goals for myself. Goals that can motivate me to study. But just what is it?
