I'm talking about the movie "Merry Christmas". But all the same wishing everyone a belated Christmas!!! To think that i do not know about the truce between the French, German and British soldiers on Christmas night during WW1... Well, not that i know a lot about WW1... It's surprising how people overlook such small but heartwarming events but instead focus on the brutality of mankind(i'm referring to the historians, or more specifically, those who write history books here). I don't think this event is mentioned in many(if any) history books(not that i read a lot of history books), otherwise i believe many more people will know about it. Though i haven't watched the movie yet, i feel that it will be nice.
Talking about nice, i really pity critics. They can't enjoy a simple movie(or book) without having to criticise them. If that is their job, then i guess it's just too bad, but if that's the way they are, born critics, then i think it's really terrible. Movies, books, etc. are all part of the writers' or scriptwriters' imagination. They have to produce something that is nice and accepted by the general public(and most people prefer happy/good endings), so there will undoubtedly be a few ridiculous/outrages parts(maybe not undoubtedly but there most probably will be). As long as it's not too ridiculous as to be unbelievable, i think that the plot will be alright. No doubt some of those criticisms make sense, but hey, most people don't care about inconsistencies or stuff like that when there are other more attention grabbing scenes. In fact i think they will just forget about it before they've even left the cinema or turned the page.
Also, the reason scriptwriters/authors can be what they are is because they have what it takes. It wouldn't be so ridiculous as that a person dies in one scene and is alive in the next(of course except when it's a fantasy or ghost story). There will more or less be a connection between the scenes, whereby less observant or questioning people(like me) will simply accept it and not kill their brain cells by thinking too deeply into it. Maybe some'll say that i'm shallow and maybe it's true, but i feel that why worry yourself even more when life is very worrying in itself? Furthermore, the reason you're reading a storybook or watching a movie is because you want to relax, so why deprive yourself of that few hours of relaxation?
But hey, of course i have some standards too, so that means that shows which i think are not nice will most definitely be not nice('cos my standards are very low), but it all falls back on one's preferance in the end..

Whoops... Spotted a spelling error. Should be 'outrageous' instead of 'outrages'....
