Politicians VS Idols

Wow.. i saw my MP today.... He was at the community centre near JP for some "porridge in harmony" thingy. Today's the last Saturday they're there to give away free porridge and Mr Cedric Foo was the GOH. I think this is sort of a racial harmony cum know- your- MP thingy so that residents will at least know how our MP looks like. Anyway, he was there to shake hands and give away the porridge to the residents while someone was at his side introducing him as "your MP, Mr Cedric Foo". Being the greedy pig that i am, i of course took the porridge too! It's curry porridge and tastes quite nice. =D
I wonder why there aren't people screaming and shouting for politicians like there are for idols (ironically, the Singapore Idols are at JP for an autograph session as well as to promote their concert). While there is a huge crowd at JP, no one seemed really excited about seeing their MP (maybe not their, but seeing a politician). Hmmm.... this is an interesting observation worth pondering about....
