went to watch a band concert with my sis at the esplanade yesterday. i was initially reluctant to go especially when she told me that it's a school concert. when i asked abt the ticket price, i was shocked! it costs 36 bucks- for a school concert- and that's for the cheapest seats!

when i got there it was a different story.

we were sitting right in front of the stage(almost) and i was perplexed. it turned out that- from my sis's mouth- for a music performance the further the seats the better as the sound u hear will be better and more harmonised. in this case i think the cheapest seats are in fact the best! the band was actually organised by rv and yuhua but performed mainly by the Kashiwa Municipal High School from Japan! there were only 2 songs with combined performances. the band can not only play their instruments but they can also sing and dance! it was also very interactive as there will be people downstage surrounding the audience and dancing as the band played for certain songs. the atmosphere got really high and it seemed less like a concert at the esplanade but more like a pop concert. nearing the end, they even gave out light sticks to the first floor audience as they sang "home"- the national day song- and the japanese version of home(a different song altogether). everyone sang together while waving their lightsticks and those without lightsticks used their phones and joined in the fun. all of a sudden it became national day! it was an excellent show and i do not regret going with my sister even though i was complaining about it a few days before the concert. i enjoyed myself thoroughly! to think that i even thought that i may fall asleep! i really should do this again sometime. the next thing i want to watch is a musical. any musical will do but i'm currently more interested in the "We Will Rock You" musical.
